Your Counterpart
By Curtney
“Ghost” Chinnery
I am that I am
I am the Woman
I am the Bearer of Life
I am the Sister, the Aunt,
and the Girlfriend
The same one, mind you
To whom you will turn
again and again
I am the Woman of Old the Mother and the Grandmother
The one with Divine Knowledge
and Understanding
I am the Wife
The one that
brings forth your children
The same one that
creates future generations
I am that I am
But yet, unlike you
It is true that
I have special features
That makes me to be
A profoundly
unique creature
However,
I am not treated as your equal
Tell me now, could that be
because of your physical strength?
I would like to acknowledge
That there is much,
much more to me
than you give credit for
You will constantly stand back
And focus your eyes
upon my beautiful breasts,
buttocks and bodily curves
And my existence to you
seems strictly just to serve.
Therefore, I ask of you,
in the name of maturity
To please face reality
And allow me equality
For I am that I am
I am the Woman of this World.
Now, being that of whom I am
You will quickly claim from me
And say to me that I am special
But to me darling, that is
Purely Mystical
For your ruling of me
At times, is generally a threat
There are times
when your battering
And the handling of a rapist may
And just could just cause my death
But beyond my sanctuary
The beauty of me
is a sight for your eyes to see
Using your eyes
and your mind
You will often strip away
my body garments
Don't you think
that is a form of torment?
However, I will stand strong
And I do believe
That at your side is where I belong
I ask of you, once more
To please recognize who I am
For I am that same counterpart that our God took from a man
To be bound to the man
Yes, I am the most mysterious
and mystical Wo-man.
