Pepper Cinnamon

The pepper cinnamon has an extremely spicy smelling leaf. The bark peels off leaving a shiny trunk. The pepper cinnamon looks like the bay rum tree but has a yellow or cinnamon colored bark. Like bay rum and guavaberry, it is a member of the myrtle family. In South Florida it is called naked wood because of the peeling bark.
