The Conch Book is fun, informative and artfully illustrated; truly "everything
you've always wanted to know about the Queen Conch."
"I personally sampled everything, every recipe and way of eating
it. There was always a bag of conch hanging overboard," she says.
A review in Islands magazine says the book is "guaranteed to make
an honorary conchologist out of everyone-and to whet your taste for the
mollusk."
"Spending time in the Bahamas, I realized the Queen Conch was a
staple in the diet for Bahamians and formed the base for a lot of business,
yet I saw there was relatively little information on it. I thought that,
pictorially, it would be fun. So I researched it aboard the Sea Wind,
in Nassau, in Florida at the University of Miami, and even in Bermuda.
Bermuda used to have conchs; it was the farthest north they went."
